Top 10 Films of 2001...

Bay's TCM is bad ass, except for the overuse of the bullet through the head shot (six times, c'mon, cool shot but gets old after a while).

Pearl Harbor, as I've said in the past, is the best trailer to the worst movie in history. Period. End of story. The attack scene is great, but everything else blows the horse to get the sperm that Barry Bonds shoots up in order to stay healthy.

You can knock me for leaving Joe D off a list for all time, but at least I've never selected Pearl Harbor onto a top 10 list unless it was my Top 10 $hitty films.

And Hudson, you of all people know that you can't always quote box office because some brilliant films, including some films that you have on your list have bad box office but are considered great films. People in general are stupid, so a lot of stupid people going to see a film, that doesn't mean it's a great film.

Yea i meant to toss out props for that one.

Bill Paxton directed and starred. Thats an achievement few have been able to pull off. And even fewer have produced a bitchin' movie as a result.

I still maintain it doesn't hold a candle to the original. However in terms of modern horror, and i think you especially will agree with this Yankee, Zombie has set the standard with Devil's Rejects.

So true.

lol, yeah, I thought he did an good job at directing it, and acting wasn't bad, the story was pretty cool, gave me that se7en feel.

But of course, its nothing close to se7en.

Who's talking horror with Zombie? I think that he can do anything. Give him Pearl Harbor and we get Ben Affleck disembowled in the first thirty seconds, that chicks head on a stake, and then we get to the real meaning behind the war, the political ramifications, and the cultural impact of Peal Harbor. I'm telling you... Zombie can do anything. Give this man $100,000,000 and see what he does, we're talking an epic that gang bangs Lucas' new trilogy in the ass for an hour and doesn't even leave a phone number on the nightstand.

There isn't an emoticon in the universe to represent how hysterical that line is.

Man, you guys are missing some great films in your lists! My top ten, in no particular order:

Amelie
Donnie Darko
No Man's Land
Black Hawk Down
Ghost World
In The Bedroom
Memento
The Royal Tenenbaums
Y Tu Mama Tambien
Spirited Away

And I could think of 2 or 3 more that deserve to be in that list, too.

Amelie.

Good one. Saw it again on IFC last night.

I still prefer City of Lost Children. Jeunet's masterpiece in my opinion.

I appreciate the original (Saw it at the Drive-In when I was a kid with a Dawn of the Dead Double feature) but I don't think they poo pooed it up, ya know ? It's like 'If they are going to do a remake, thank god they did it this way'.

This films had some balls.

How many just realy bad horror films (and remakes for that matter) that are just garbage) This was one of those remakes that worked for me (Like DAWN 04)

I felt it not only looked visually stunning, the performances were fantastic.
With Biel saying 'poo poo the 7th Heaven' stereotype (and she is hot; at least it wasn't Buffy)

In fact; she was the only WB player in this ! The only thing that bugged me was that in the 70's, they didn;t have that kind of Bra-Padding :cheesy:
