The Films of John Carpenter

Don't sweat it. I've got a 677 page manuscript setting on the shelf, about 125 pages short of being completed. The last time I worked on it was 3 years ago. Personally, I prefer screenwriting.

The Thing is the first gore film I ever saw, as well as the 1st ever movie I saw on this new cable tv channel called Home Box Office.

I love Escape From NY, too.

And more recently, I got The Fog on dvd and although it's a weird take on horror, I find its minimalism and atmosphere to be very very good.

Those 3 films of his blow me away, and yes I've heard of Halloween

John Carpenter has made some of the best movies ever and considering that a lot of his films were given a western feel to them, it is very interesting to see his take on them within a different setting. Hopefully he will be making a new movie soon, and if Cigarette Burns is anything to go by (in my opinion the best episode of MOH) then it is going to be good!

he is, in fact, in pre-production on two thrillers about serial killers entitled "the 13th apostle" and "psychopath". i'm in negotiations to produce the behind the scenes featurettes for the DVD/BluRay releases of both simply by having written a letter to the man himself, JC. he mentored my business partner via USC, so that was our "in". anyway, studios should be sending the screenplays over next week. cant wait to read them. should really be working on those budget proposals...
