Embarassing Pop Culture Confessions

OK, everyone's got them and they are more entertaining to discuss rather than discuss every random thought that comes through someone's mind...

Some of mine humiliating confessions:
1. I watch Friends everytime a rerun airs on television, but have never seen a new episode air
2. I like watching Star Trek: The Next Generation reruns on SciFi or FX whenever I see they are on
3. I read the B&H and EVS catalog in the bathroom (not really pop culture, but still...)

OK... should hopefully be an entertaining thread.

Well let's see... I have Backstreet boys ( grown men ) , N Sync and O town songs on my computer.
- I enjoy Real World and currently watch the Gauntlet.

The two concerts I would pay anything to see would be Michael Jackson (greatest performer in history) and Madonna (Michael Jackson female counterpart).

Wow, I just keep digging my own ditch here.

Shoot, I watch two or three episodes a DAY from my personal DVD collection... and not just TNG... Oh no... I have TOS, TNG, DS9, Voyager, and Enterprise. Even at 2 or 3 a day it takes almost 2 years to watch them all.

WHY AM I TELLING YOU THIS?!

Jeremy,

Here Here!

Cheers on your keeping that unique DVXuser spark alive. I'm glad to see it hasn't been snuffed out completely.

I'm not a big fan of today's music, I must say. Rock was murdered in the first degree by grunge, and has still not again materialized even in ghostly form since. Don't even get me started on the sad state of affairs pop and r&b has found itself in, and even my beloved jazz has seemingly jumped the melodic shark (except for Harry Connick, Jr.)

Guilty pop pleasure? I'll say I agree with you on syndicated shows like Star Trek: TNG and also anything, and I mean anything on the History channel.

I own the Last Unicorn Movie *sniff * sniff
That is the wife's favorite flick.
She has a closet full of ****ing chatchkies from that film, and a website dedicated to it to boot.

I've tried so hard to figure out how I could afford to go to this ultimate convention:
http://planetxpo.com/40th/

But I just don't have the $500 ticket price... but come on, dinner at the top of the Space Needle with all those Trek people and Buzz Aldrin!! Talk about awesome.

Owen, you're cracking me up.

Here is another one, it's no secret to those of you who know me, but I'm a pretty die hard Yankee fan...

After that 'For the Love of the Game' movie came out with the guy in the bar who could name in order Yankee players by their numbers... yeah, I made a list, in Excel.

My wife and I own season 1 - 5 of Saved By The Bell on dvd.

I bought my wife a NKOTB sweatshirt for our anniversary last year.

I know what NKOTB means.

My wife and I are fans of King Of Queens, more specifically Arthur from King of Queens.

But speaking of Star Trek, this is a serious story of when I was a kid. I love Deep Space Nine, a lot. And I said if I was one of those kids that could take part in the Make A Wish Foundation, I would walk around on the set of Deep Space Nine for my wish...sad, I know.

Yankee...ditto. Would pay a gazillion $$$ to see Michael in concert.

And in what might be my last post *sigh*

I totally dig the Annie! movie and soundtrack with Albert Finney and Carol Burnett.

(Walking into sunset with tail tucked) "Sorry J.L., sorry Barry's, Hudson, sorry scarecrow, sorry..."

Annie is a marvelous film, and not at all embarrassing IMO. T'was made by John Huston, for ****'s sake...and that cast - Fughedaboutit! What performances!

This leads me to why I would love to attend NAB this year. Of course it would be great to check out all the upcoming goodies, but in truth I just want to get to Vegas so I can stop by the Star Trek Experience and visit Quark's Bar. I figure it's the closest you can get to stepping onto a Trek set now. You should make that your new wish... it's probably more fun than grabbing a burger and fries at The Max! http://www.startrekexp.com/

Hey Zack, how'd you end up in a 'Van down by the river'? Classic SNL.

I still watch reruns and DVD's of the old SNL. Steve Martin, Chevy Chase, Dan Akroyd, et. al. And then Dana Carvey, Mike Meyers.
