Any DVXuser fathers to be?

Thanks John, Kov and Loop :)

Hudson: Thanks for the heartfelt words o' wisdom. BTW, I've seen a lot of your work and your boy is very cute. Making movies with dad? Awesome. I can't wait!

Kovarova: I keep thinking of the Grinch's heart growing 6 sizes too big. I can only hope :)

Loop: the ultrasound tech said the same thing...She said (rather disparagingly, actually) Oh, these twins don't have anything to do with YOU, its all the mother's genes. Of course I'm sitting there thinking, "Hmmm, I didn't have anything to do with it? News to me!" Anyway, yes, my wife's grandmother had twins too, so you could be so lucky!!!

Ultrasound scans!

Ultrasound scans!

First ultrasound scans I've seen of the twins so far that capture somewhat normal versions of their faces. The other scans, while still amazing, have only shown skulls, spine, outlines of abdomen, etc...

uh oh twins, that's twice the child support when you get a divorce hahaha just kidding! Congrats man.

Ah. Forgot to mention. These are not indentical twins. Boy and a girl in fact.

Dude, you gotta name them Luke and Leia!

Very cool. It's hard to believe my daughters are 7 and 9 now. Some advice for the first few months-- if the twins are ever asleep at the same time--*immediately* go to sleep, both of you. Also, if you think you're going to be shaping them and molding them as they grow, think again. They pop out with their own personalities and YOU are the one that get's changed. :)

Any advice out there? :)

Is it wrong to secretly hope that my wife has a c-section so that I can film it and use it for hero-fest.....? :)
(That was a joke)
I'm not a father but I was a baby once, and I'll say don't wish for the "C" section. I was born that way and for years I had an overwhelming desire to exit buildings through the WINDOW!

OK -- bad joke.

Congratys dude. CIGAR ---> :Drogar-Smoke(DBG):

You think you ever loved anyone; wait. You think you ever worried about anyone; wait. Your views on the entire planet are going to change in the next year.

Everything changes.

It's bitchen!

I stand by that statement 1000%, period.

Life goes from whatever it is to amazing in a flash. Nothing brings me to tears more than my kids and it's always tears of joy. I even shed a few over stupid mushy commercials.... Becoming a father really changes a man.

Being a parent, you will learn more about yourself than you may have intended or ever wanted to know.

I used to be one of those folks who never wanted kids. Never felt I'd find the right person that I would want to have a child with. That all changed when I met my wife and then the birth of my son.

Being a father has brought such joy to my life. Changes as well. You are right. Sleep and party time will...be different. You'll still have moments but now there is someone, well two someones, in your life who you can't help but think about.

It's been said many times but having a child of your own makes you see your own parents differently too.

No one is a perfect parent. We all make mistakes. Teach your children about hope, love and respect for others. Everything else is gravy.

Enjoy them while they are small. They grow up VERY fast.

Last...having a children will make you a better human being.

Congratulations!

My daughter will be 1 month old next week.

cute, ain't she?

It's wierd how your psychology can change after just a short time........

d-mac, cute kid. Are you in Tokyo right now?

If I had a baby I don't think I could stop looking at her/him long enough to visit DVXuser. I'm fascinated with kids (and monkeys). Seriously, who needs cable tv when you've got a kid (or monkey) around. There's so many things I want to teach him/her/it. "You hear that clunk? No, it's not broken. That's the gyro inside that stabilizes the image. ..Can you say GYRO? GyyyyRooooo. Do you want Daddy to read you another story from Barry Green's book?"

:)

Congratulations jaustere and to all the other new fathers/mothers to be.

"Last...having a children will make you a better human being."

............... Saddam Hussein had kids. I'm fairly certain that the two are mutually exclusive.

I guess there will always be exceptions.

I was refering to human beings in general but if you'd like to put up a laundry list of killers and evil people to prove something, feel free.

I figure about 90% of the kids bein born today really ought'nt be. They're born to parents who don't care, don't raise em right, didn't need kids to start with, or did it for some extraneous reason: save a marriage, keep a spouse, hell get child support after divorce.

So pardon me for bein cynical, but with a 70% divorce rate in the country, massive obesity problems, the dumbest average kids for a 1st world country on record, and literally millions of children on mood stabilizing drugs ( i heard 3 million just on ritalin alone this morning) I'd say most people are NOT becoming better people, or at least not better parents, by having kids.

To the 10 or so percent out there for whom their children are actually a blessing and will be taken care of, provided for, and raised right, kudos. But the vast majority are not :(

Btw, I really really really hate kids, but I hate grownups worse :)

Edit: I really am a happy guy once you get to know me :D

"Ooo, ooo, daddy, I want to hear the story about progressive frame rates and shutter speed!"

One can only hope!

Don't think my future wife would be too happy with that, though.

Hi PK, yeah, in Tokyo now. Thanks, that picture was taken when she was 4 days old. half asian, half white baby, in case you couldn't tell.

As for some previous quotes about kids being born that shouldn't be, definitely has some merit to it. But the opposite side to that argument is that not enough good people are making babies, right? so get out there everyone, (begin barry white voice) and start making some sweet love. (/end barry white voice)

Whenever I think of half white, half asian, I always think of that Weezer song, "Damn those half-Japanese girls..." Forgot the rest, but half asian girls seem to drive the guys crazy:love4:

Better get some protection for her, d-mac

:kali: :love4:

I don't what i'm gonna do if I have a girl...oh man...
