I remember hearing about this but can't find it in the search - isn't there a PCI card that you can hookup to your computer that will let you ingest p2? I know you have to put it in the back of your comp but that's ok - the HVX firewire mode is too slow for me right now for making backups - i wonder why its slower to copy the contents of a p2 card to my desktop than it is to ingest the MXF files into FCP?

Really though, what do us mac users do when we don't own a powerbook? I don't want to buy that panasonic 5 card tray, blah
 
You can use the P2 store. Only one slot, same speed as the 5 Slot.

Unfortunately, drivers are not available for the MAC and the chipset we use and are not cost effective to write.
 
Damn, the p2 store is too expensive and its USB 2.0 - USB2 on mac's are a lot slower than they're worth - I guess I will just continue using the HVX as a deck - I just wish there were a fasterrr more cost-effective way -
