OK so DVXuser has been such a help to me in terms of filmmaking and networking - you name it.

The unfortunate side effect ... its better than crack in terms of procrastinating!

So Lyons and I were posting our to do lists in another thread ...

... I nocked something off my list and he knocked like three thing off his list and started talking smack to me and then it hit me ...

... why not turn this thing around and use the surplus testosterone around (spirit of competition) to get things done.

So here's my list. When you get things done, bold them and put them in red or something to indicate that they are checked off.

Update with fresh posts.

Here's my list. First one to knock five things off their list is king for a day.

  1. Finish editing New Orleans Corprate Vid that I was paid for before the hurricane.
  2. Finish DVD cut ODD Squad
  3. Throw togther some BTS ODD Squad
  4. finish screenplay by 3/24 for UCLA online course
  5. Make web versions of the ODD Squad DVD Cut in .mov and .mwv
  6. make .wmv version of Shed
  7. Update website and get those versions online
  8. Once the website is updated with the footage, get my resume on Madndy.com adn like 4 other websites
  9. business cards
  10. FINALLY finish dir cut of Noirleans, my 72 hour film contest entry,
  11. Get Zombie DVD dupes, Norileans, ODD squad mailed out to collaborators
  12. get number changed on cell phone
  13. write hero fest script
  14. continue devlopment with producer for low budget feature (greenlighted)
  15. go to Lyons thread and leave feedback for his Music Doc
  16. leave feedback for Coffee's rough cut
  17. leave feedback folr Barry_S's original contest entry
  18. leave feedback for Callghan's scifi and a ton of others.
  19. get camera settings for Shed and Odd squad to Envision and Ought2bcommitted
  20. meet with Briceman on phone regarding his herofest script

1. import my high school + college movies from vhs, export to embarrassing dvd set as well as some selections to infamous briceman cafe thread
2. import vinyl, make cd compilations
3. find Hunting Camp hard drive and make miniDV master (can't believe i didn't do this) as well as .mov and .wmv exports for web
4. finish script for next movie
5. decide if I'm doing Hero Fest idea, if so make movie *probably not gonna happen
6. make Phantasm "Two Left Feet" music video
7. make next movie
8. badger Jack to join MySpace, and get him to actually join

1. Rough comp 45 vfx shots
2. Re-render wall shots 20, 38, 39
3. Setup batch renders to rerender all shots with motion blur.
4. Remove doggie cam rig from 17 shots
5. Replace lcd screen in 5 shots with cool graphic.
6. Turn 15 shots into fake doggie cam shots.
7. Create clean plate/remove scissor lift from shots 8, 9, 16, 18, 20, 24, 29, 30, 31, 33, 34, 36, 38, 41, 42.
8. Give the roto-monkey the remainder of the 45 band shots to be roted.
9. Get all shots in front of someone who isn’t colorblind for color correction.
10. make sure all comp renders are qued up with all the correct effects/settings/durations/frame ranges…TRIPLE CHECK THIS!!!! Then click render.
11. Send label some final look renders
11a. final vfx shots.
12. Conform VFX shots into edit.
13. Model/texture/light chair for pussy cat dolls video.
14. create panorama of PCD set.
15. Finish light-scape for NIN video

Ahh, this is hilarious! :grin:

Which reminds me of my list...

1. Roto 3 shots for music video.
2. Rough out effects for VFX shots in video.
3. Do effects for video.
4. Render out proxies for edit in video.
5. Redo edit for video.
6. Identify weak shots, rework, and add as needed better shots.
7. Find an easier way to export over 100 clips from FCP to AE without having to buy Automatic Duck.
8. Add misc. camera moves, and final comp's/effects in AE.
9. Buy production monitor.
10. Color correct video.
11. Render, DVD menu, print packaging, etc...
12. Work on website, logo, business cards...

3. Write Herofest frist draft.
4. Create Graphic for Fencing Video - Peanut Butter Cup 2006 (small kids tournament).

6. Read up on color correction, and lightening the footage while not washing it out or making it pixelated.
7. Color correct and lighten up the fencing video.
8. Read about compression.
9. Get the video to export and NOT look like crap.
10. Read about titles and transitions and experiment.
11. Shoot more test footage.

13. Rinse.
14. Repeat.
