Film is shooting.

99% of the people here have most likely never shot film, and unfortunatly, thats THE best way to learn to light properly. I started with film, I love it still.

Never stop bragging, no one else is going to do it for you these days.

Good read btw.

I shot Super 8 :violin::undecided

But damn it; I shot narrative Super8

Nice article, Ive shot super 8 just been offered a Super 16 from a client who cant pay...I want to take it but know I'm letting myself in for a world of hurt...
Keep up the good work...

Congrats! I was geeking out last night about getting a simple letter to the editor published in the ny times, but this truly is worthy of bragging!

Thanks everyone.. Yesterday I was working on building a website for myself and my wife asked me what happened to that article and if it was ever published.. they contacted me last year.. I wrote it, they said that they loved it and I never heard from them again. So did some surfing late last night and found it :)

Congrats Kovarova! Great article. Do you have that Mercedes commercial on the web anywhere for us to see?

No I don’t.. it was kept by the production co that I shot it for. Shooting on this material back then became a tightly guarded secret. I do have a test you can view that I did on people. I needed to see what the stock did with faces.. so the idea was to get a couple of seniors in and see how the stock reacted to wrinkles. I had only enough money to burn one roll of 16mm... But thought… well lets not only get two old guys in but lets give them some dialogue and sit them across from one another and see what we get out of it. So I quickly wrote a few pages, found a couple of old London west end theatre actors and shot this.. keep in mind that it was just a test and we only had one roll of stock.. I think it was like 1.5-1 ratio or something stupid like that..

If you don’t like bad language then don’t click the link

Wow -- congrats!!

that's really cool, both for the article and just digging that stock up and doing something successful with it.

Not bad for a 15 year old who likes Falco. :cheesy:
