Who have you met?

By "Some day" he means i'm camped outside her house and by "meet" he means she will be locked in my trunk as I go down the interstate

ROFL @ Silver and Yankee

Yeah, you guys are right. :( It's like wayne campbell's fender stratacaster "someday she will be mine, oh yes, she will be mine."

I dig it Yankee

I was a fan of Charlotte in the early 90's (I was in GA and di not like the Hawks)

Those were some good times (Charlotte with Johnson and Mourning); admittedly Jordan fouled homeboy on that last reverse attempt.

Thanks for the honest answer. I presume alot of folks do not like the Yanks for the same reason !

-

Jordan is hands down the best ever.

celebs

celebs

Michael Moore is humble, shy, quiet, funny.

Jeff Gibbs (Bowling for Columbine and F 9/11 producer, composer). An engaging presence, intense and thorough, kind.

Rachel Perry (VH1) is very sweet and nice.

Standouts in the music biz: Eric Johnson, Hank Shocklee (Public Enemy), Chuck D, Grand Wizzard Theodore (invented scratching), Fred Wesley and Pee Wee Ellis (JB's), Kurtis Blow, Dennis Coffey, Nile Rogers.

Celebs are just normal people but are always on guard against wackos, photographers, and superfans who freak out for no reason. They are just people who you recognize from having seen them before. Nothing more. The best quote is from Hayden Christensen:

"Actors are observers. They're trying to have an understanding of human sensibility. And how do you have that accurate observation if you regard yourself as someone of great importance? When you're the one constantly being observed, because they view you as a celebrity? It's all wrong."

Ron Jeremy-porn star, worked on an Idie with the guy, cool, quiet, Narcaleptic
don gibbs- eh
Jennifer love hewitt-Eye Candy, focused as hell, she did her job and that was that
Lou diamon Phillips-Cool ****, He would always throw poker parties and Have a blast with the crew
Adam Brody-Did his job well and handled being a celebrity well, great to his fans
Meg Ryan-pleasant, amazing actress, just chilled out
Anthony Michael Hall-Hilarious, always ****ing around, a little off the wall

I have other stories, but seeing as I work in the industry I'd rather not bad mouth the people who have power, I like working in this industry and if the truth comes out, then chances are I won't be around for long.

Yeah this is a name dropping good time! I'll drop a samplin' of my braggin' rights sure! I haven't worked with any of those below (someday!), I met all of them socially...

Chuck Palahniuk - as many of you here know I had a party at my place, invited Chuck and he came and had some brews. The event even got some airtime on his documentary movie. That was one of my college highlights. I think I can call me and the Chuckster buds, although neither of us have called now since "Haunted" came out. He is cool and down-to-earth as hell though. Nicest guy ever. The whole celebrity thing has sent him into a bit of seclusion though.

John Malkovich, Matt Dillon, Lucy Lui, Gus Van Sant, Michael Rapaport - Malkovich was extremely intimidating but talked to my wife for awhile about Europe - I just kinda stared, Matt Dillon was really cool and very genuinely interested in Hunting Camp asking lots of questions which I think says a lot, Lucy Lui was gorgeous, tiny, and incredibly sweet to talk to, Gus Van Sant and I talked favorite locations and we helped each other with directions, and Michael Rapaport is all about helping the little man get exposure.

Lloyd Kaufman, Mark Borchardt, Debbie Rochon, and Gunnar Hansen - horror peeps are interesting. Lloyd and Mark were 100% what you'd expect. Debbie was really sweet and REALLY flirty, Gunnar was very tongue in cheek and a bit scary

As someone touched on before, celebs are very much regular people. Most people will just stand back in awe and whisper or take pics, I just walk up to them and talk and I would say 90% are extremely genuine and just happy to talk with someone that isn't pushy. Having a common thing to talk about (filmmaking) definitely helps though!

Bruce Campbell
Debra Wilson - MAD TV
Julia Duffy - Oh yeah, Designing Women
Alison Arngrim - Little House on the Prarie
I saw James Earl Jones & Maya Angelou (on different occasions) speak.

Not much for a mid western guy who goes no where.

I met Bruce Campbell, and I'm pretty sure he's a very nice man. He's kinda a smartass, but a lovable one. I met him at Comic-con and a book signing, and this was four days of very fervent fans coming up and asking for autographs, and he still was nice and composed, so i'm sure under better circumstances he's probably nicer (and he was nice even still).

I also (in this same four day period) went to a screening of his movie, The Man With the Screaming Brain, and despite the movie not being very good, he was personable and funny. So i'd say he's a cool guy.

I also met Bill Moseley two years in a row at Comic Con. He was a really nice guy too.

Robert Pine (Sarge from CHiPs) went to my college. He just showed up in the theatre department office once day, and I was the only one there. We yapped for about half an hour about the differences between the '60s and the '90s in Greek campus life.

Wendie Malick did as well, and she was there for some kind of event once. My thing for attractive older women might have born that day.

Tom Skerritt was my neighbor in Seattle. I agree with Hudson -- inTENSE.

Well, I'll jump in. I've met oodles of celebs, but the most memorable were...

Clint Eastwood - I played a chef (no lines) in a little featured part in his film, Flags of our Fathers. He walked up to me, I was in shock. He shook my hand and asked what my plan was. Wow, the legend himself wanted my take on my blocking. I told him what I thought and what I was thinking about. he shook my hand, patted my back and said, sounds good, let's do it.....Ah, he's just so damn incredible. I can go on and on about that day and him, but I'll spare you.

Will Patton - I've already blabbed about this here, but I played his aide on the show Numbers. I worked the whole episode with him. A WAY underrated actor. I was fortunate enough to learn a lot about the craft from him. Amazing guy.

Sean Hayes - I played a Mexican busboy that Jack takes home on Will & Grace. It was a small role, but Sean was so great, very generous, warm and actually took interest in my career.

Steve Zahn - I play a Mexican Federali in the upcoming Adam Sandler produced film, Strange Wilderness. In the scene I call Steve Zahn and his pals 'stupid fvcking monkey's', then let them go. It was fun and they were all real cool guys.

Eh, those just popped into my head, but I've met some great actors, many famous. I just didn't talk too much to most of them. If I was crew I was too busy and if I was acting, we'll I was too nervous.

Surprisingly few actor/celeb-types: Jared Leto, the cast of Gilligan's Island (did three "three-hour tours" (promos) with them, Bill Maher, Kevin Nealon, George Carlin, Dick Clark, Jimmie Walker, "Herb" from WKRP, Chuck Palahniuk, maybe a few others. They were all very friendly and appreciative. Bob "Gilligan" Denver tried to be nice, but you could see him grimace every time he had to put on that stupid fishing cap. I also met Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny when I was a kid.

Most of them have been musicians: AC/DC, Tesla, Scorpions, Metallica, King's X, Extreme, Joan Jett, I Mother Earth, Chely Wright, Smithereens, etc. (I used to work in radio). Lots of sports legends: Joe Montana, Bruce Smith, Cal Ripken, Jr., George Foreman, Tommy Morrison, Dick Butkus, Derrick Thomas, Neil Smith, Magic Johnson, Don Mattingly, Andre Rison, John Madden, George Brett, Buck O'Neil, Rosie Greer, Donnie Edwards, Mike Sweeney, Johnny Damon, and lots of others.

Not bad for the Midwest.

Stan Winston - truly a maverick in FX, he was in a hotel lobby at Siggraph a few years ago. He was very nice and humble.

Ben Gazzara - he was hanging out at a hotel lobby in Monterey, had a bit of an attitude

I've met quite a few, just from living in New York, and of course, being from Arkansas, I can proudly say I've spoken with President William Jefferson Clinton on a number of occasions. Hillary as well.

I met Jerry Orbach when they were filming a Law & Order scene on my block (they film a lot in my hood). He was exceptionally nice (actually, my dog and I are blurred in the background of the scene -- a group of people watching the shoot ended up being on-camera and looking like gawkers at the crime scene...).

Woody Allen (pre-SoonYi); distracted but nice.

Diane Keaton; very nice.

Treat Williams; kinda arrogant.

Griffin Dunne; very charming.

Annabella Sciorra; aloof. Didn't care for her.

Cassandra Wilson; very kind.

Mary Steenburgeon and Malcolm McDowell (when they were dining with Bill and Hillary at a restaurant in Little Rock when he was merely the governor). She was very sweet; I couldn't look at McDowell -- he's scared me ever since Clockwork Orange and then, Caligula? Fuhgedaboudit.

A number of others. But this is my favorite star-sighting story:

On my 25th birthday, I was eating a very late dinner at Cafe Loup, a French restaurant on West 13th Street, when Billy Idol came in with a date and was seated right next to me. Five years later, on my 30th birthday, I went to lunch at Il Cantinori, a Northern Italian restaurant on West 10th St., and was seated next to Neil Simon and Marvin Hamlisch. And I thought, this is the difference between 25 and 30: Billy Idol at 25, Marvin Hamlisch at 30...

Ha! :) That's a great story.

I met John Travolta waaaaaaay back when I was a kid and he was in his "Where is he now" phase.

Ron Howard, George Romero, Claudia Schiffer, Tony Todd, Spike Lee, Warwick Davis, Brian Grazer, Kane Hodder, Adrienne Barbeau, Linda Blair, Danielle Harris, Ernie Hudson, J. Ho, Tom Savini, Elvira, Margot Kidder, Sid Haig, C. Thomas Howell, Rick Shroder (sucked at kickball as a kid), Kane Hodder, Robert Englund, Bill Mosley, KISS, Val Kilmer, Susan Lucci, Sarah Michelle Gellar, William Hurt, Michael Moriarty...

mostly horror genre people...

some I worked with when I was on an abc soap, some I just met in passing on the streets of NYC, some I met at horror expos, one I had the pleasure of cutting up their American Express card when I worked in a retail store in Times Sq....
