Intel Macs officially cracked for Windows

The idea that Macs never crash is laughable. Give me a break! I love the platform too, but that's the most silly thing I've read today.

I've certainly had macs crash on me in the past few years. But I can count the number of times its happened on my two hands and over the span of three different apple systems.

Whereas when i was a PC user crashes were so frequent i thought it was just something you had to deal with all the time when using computers.

Macs do crash but with no where near the frequency i experienced with Windows.

So am I, and Windows blows. But yes, for a small market it might be useful for those specialist tasks, but if you're a Mac user, there's almost no reason to use a PC.

And just for the record, I've been a PC user solely for the last 12 or so years. Switched to Mac solely about 4 months ago.

Running Mac on the PC hardware is a little more interesting I reckon. Simply because it might force Apple to bring down the price of their machines.

It's not pointless at all. I'm a Windows developer in my day job, but I love the Mac OS, and I love the hardware. Being able to use both would be amazing for me, especially if it turns out that the Macbook Pro will run the new Intel binaries of FCP "like butter" as Jobs would say.

One thing I have found though, since switching is that Macs are far more picky about things than a PC. Some USB drives just lock the finder up. Put a bad DVD in the DVD drive and the machine won't eject it (I had to pull the Drive out of the mac and hit the actual eject button)

Macs have pissed me off at times, equally as much as PC's...and in fact more sometimes, but overall the joy of using them outweights this. WHen a PC runs smoothly, you feel dirty, when a Mac does, you're in love :)

Would be cool to have some windows apps running natively... and shoot.. I'd bet it would be the most reliable windows system out there.. Frankly, it would be the PC games.. that would do it.

My brother switched as a lifelong PC guy to a mac. Hated it at first.. then grew to love it just as I have.. and is now a hardcore mac guy. He freaked out with the fact that in the first 10 months of having the computer... it NEVER crashed. Sure an application may crash, but the system will be up.

I'm not sure the last OS crash I had... Applications crash from time to time.. but the OS doesn't. Maybe a total number of crashes in OSX would certainly not be more than the fingers on one hand...

If ya got the means.. drive the mercedes. If ya can't afford one.. then take the dodge dart to work: PC.
