50 Greatest Actors Voted on by other Actors

Oh well, I guess my list holds no significance for you.
His performance in The Shawshank Redemption is far and away the best in his career...
but without Morgan Freeman's beautiful execution of the Red character in the same film...who knows what would have happened?

Hank Azaria? Moe Szyslak from The Simpsons? No offense intended, but are you serious? I am not saying that mine is the end-all actor list...but who would you bump off my list in favor of Chief Wiggum? Orson Welles? Sidney Poitier? Henry Fonda, perhaps?
 My mistake - now I see that you were going for satire...to show just how ridiculous the Channel 4 list was.

If your only knowledge of Azaria is as a voice talent from the Simpsons, that says something.

Your defensive sarcasm does as well, as does your assumtion that your "list" is a somehow unchallengable end all be all.

Jesus. People are entitled to a different opinion.

Okay, I checked out Hank Azaria.

He's funny on The Simpsons but for the life of me I have a hard time seeing how he could possibly rate as one of the 50 Greatest Actors of all time based on anything in his body of work.

Earlier, I found fault with Tom Cruise (and was blasted for it), but Azaria just isn't in a league with Cruise.

EDIT: Based on the Hank Azaria model, one would have to rank Phil Hartman way up there. Phil Hartman was a good funny man and did a lot of things but cannot be included in a list of the 50 Greatest. IMO.

Indeed they are...that's why I would never dismiss someone else's picks as "Not Significant" (as much as I may disagree.)

Also, I said specifically that my list is not the end-all (and you quoted me on it to boot.)

Right. My knowledge of film is so very limited in scope (sarcasm). And you're right...who could forget Azaria in Godzilla?

Cheers:beer: in any case. We'll just have to agree to disagree.

Yup. but the more I think about it, I have to agree to argree more with you guys, damnit. I hate admitting that kind of thing. At least I didn't get schooled by Briceman though. I think he's got great talent, and although he was in Godzillia, and yes that gives anyone shivers, I take into account his Broadway stuff (which Sidney also has a ton of), and his ability to really fit into just about any role.

But, you guys are right that he's no Brando.

I stand by my Gary Oldson though, he IS realy good.

Actually, since no one posting in this thread will ever achieve the level of success of any of them, on ayone's list (most probably), it's kinda like fleas fighting over the dog.

Oh well.

Yeah, but I was thinking more of his potential of acting abilities, not as much of his work so far. But, the more I think about it, he shouldn't.

He was damn good as Agadore Sparticus, and none of you will take that away from me. NONE OF YOU !!!!! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAH :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

Ok. when someone here reaches briceman, Orson Welles, Tom Hanks, or Al Pacino status, I'll gladly edit that post.

There are some cats around these parts who are quite talented, and shan't go unnoticed for long.

yes. thank you very much for putting that Callaghan. There are a lot of good actors around here.

Ahh hell. I just realized briceman IS listed. Now I have to redit the edit.
