I hear ya. Would be interested to hear people's take on Tito. What history book did you read?
There's a pretty interesting book by Brian Hall (?) called The Impossible Country. This cat Hall (one of the last western journalists to freely travel there) talks about his experiences over in Yugo right up to the breaking point in the early 90's. He has friends that are Serbs, Croats, and Bosnians and spends time with each to get everybody's take. Pretty interesting and reads like a novel.
Such a shame what has been happening over there. I got Serbian and Irish blood in me. Lots of familial strife, revolutions, tit-for-tat. Now if I was only an Israeli/Palestinian/Chinese/Tawainese/Tutsi/Hutu as well....hmm, crazy.
