Need DP/Camera In California

Hey everyone!

My brother is currently going out to LA to help out a friend on her shoot of a pilot/short film. The shoot is setup for the dates Mar. 24th - 26th. She has a crew and cast all setup with a location. The script has been finalized and is ready to be shot except for one crippiling detail..... She had no camera! Now i'm sure everyone is dying to know how this strange occurrance of events came about, but I will save you all the gruesome details and instead give you the brief version.

She originally was going to rent the camera from EVS or Samy's but after finding out that she would need a deposit equal to the value of the camera which she didn't have she had to find another way. She then was able to get a DP with a camera that was willing to shoot the short/pilot for free ( which she needs ). This DP works on Law and Order SVU and as of today isn't returning her calls and she can't get in contact with him. Now I myself was planning on going out with my brother and offering my services with my camera but seeing as how she is in a 1 bedroom studio apartment with her cousin and is unable to house me and the other 2 people coming out( my brother included) that option was also out.

Now to the part where I need your assistance. If anyone in the LA area or further could be willing to help out by loaning your services and equipment for the duration of the shoot I'm sure she would be estatic with joy and wouldn't know how to repay. Now just so there is no misunderstanding the budget that she has for the shoot wouldn't allow her to be able to pay anybody for their work but they would get credit. Also if anybody would want to just loan out their camera that would also be great but I would never ask anybody to do that and that is the main reason why I put services and equipment because I treasure my camera like a Diamond and wouldn't let it out of my sight.

If anybody think they might be interested you can pm me or e-mail me at bluephoenixmultimedia@comcast.net

Also The shoot will be at the grove in LA

If this is her project, she should be the one taking the financial risk. In other words, if she has a credit card, she *could* offer to PayPal a capable owner/operator a fixed rate for the camera rental, without a full deposit of the value. At least this way, nobody feels like they're being hustled...

If it's not worth the financial risk to her (going into debt to pursue her dream), then it's probably not worth anyone else's time to get involved... Just my opinion.

Yeah, can't she use the money she was going to pay for the rental from EVS and offer it to the DP (for both his services and equipment)?
