Transfering files to a new drive problem

I bought a new MAXTOR 200 GB drive to replace an older 250 MAXTOR drive. I copied all of my media files to the new drive with no problem. My FCP files are stored on my mac drive. When I attempted to open a Final Cut project, all of my media files were offline. Does the new drive need to be named the same as the old one? What did I do wrong?

One more question: My new drive only has one 800 port, unlike my old one which had two. I need one of those to use to run out to my camera for my NTSC monitor. I have a G4 Powerbook, so I only have one 800 port on there as well. Can I use a 9-pin FireWire to 4 pin FireWire 400 Bilingual cable to run into my camera for my monitor?

Thanks in advance for your help.

You have to reconect the files. You can do this in batches though, not as hard as it seems. Once it finds one file in a group, it will conect all the other related ones.
You should be OK with that cable for your monitor.

Even if the files are greyed out, you should still be able to click on the greyed out file. If you then select 'OK' or "select file' , whatever option it gives you, (at work right now, don't have FCP up and running) you should be able to link that file. I have been in a similar situation with the greyed out files and this worked.

Because of the move, the names may be slightly different. Check OFF the box that asks to look for the exact name.
