Smallest moving GG solution yet???

I've taken about a dozen shots through the unit using the GS400 4MB stills function.

i sure would like to see some of those stills. the over-compressed video that's been posted just isn't doing it for me.

Don't worry, just a minor flesh wound. Most of my projects are annointed at some time with some high quality corpuscles. Bewillia, at 3000Kbps MPEG4 full size 720x480, those videos I've posted are pretty much the equivalent of max bitrate MPEG2 for DVD.

Good news. I just confirmed that the chassis carbon fibre tubing is a go. It's being custom manufactured to my specs to provide a super stiff, light and strong chassis. If you should drop your camera rig from say a moving car, I'm pretty sure this adapter will survive the hit rather nicely.

I'll be setting up a pre-order procedure and site by weeks end. There's no turning back now

Well, there's no cameo reflection of me in that shot, so I have to assume you're referring to the adapter. :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG) It's nice and solid now, but desperately needs a HVX at the other end. The 28-70 F2.8 zoom is bigger than the adapter...

That is looking good, man. Post some more footage (some low light tests with some people on it). So, they'll be available by the end of the week?! Did you decide on the price yet? On your first post you said it would be 400 bucks but on another post you said you didn't know yet. Will Canon FD mounts be available right away?

hmm... i hadn't seen the cucumber/fireplace video yet. it does look better. just difficult to decipher between artifacting and grain (notice keyframe intervals popping out and really fuzzy out-of-focus areas).

as someone interested in purchasing one of these things, i would certainly want to see footage/stills without compression artifacts before pulling out my wallet. call me crazy.

you have done a great job nonetheless.

cucumber/fireplace video??? The only video I've seen so far is the one with the oldman in front of a house and some hands picking up tea cups. Is there any other video?

Rawfa, the pre-order process/simple web site will be available by the end of the week. The adapters will take at least 4 weeks before all the parts are in, final machining done etc. Nikon, Canon FD (for sure), Minolta MD, and Pentax M42 (almost confirmed) will be available mounts. As mentioned, the carbon fibre chassis tube has finally been sourced, spec'd and ordered (now I'm poor). I cannot do final machine work until I have these in my hands.

Because the parts are so expensive, I've decided to implement a pre-order process and guarantee the price at $540 for the first 10 adapters. The first 10 will be used to test what, if any macros, will be requred for the various cams out there. This will include a "smart" charger for the internal power supply. I'm also adding laser cut optically coated (AR) acrylic elements (front/rear) to accomplish a dust seal.

Final pricing will almost certainly be higher, otherwise I'll have to register as a charity. From what I've seen, the next step up for folks would be the MPIC at $3600.

One is not released, with no moving GG version in sight. The other is twice the size, and will see 1.5 to 3 f/stops light loss in the field. Neither use an engineered diffuser. The Brevis is very different from both..and cheaper. The next upgrade in terms of optical properites IMO is the MPIC.

Check out that last clip.

tha sounds really amazing if it is as good as you say (and I hope IT IS!). I cannot find the new video though! The only video I've seen was the one with the oldman by the house. Can you post it again, please?

I have finaly seen the new footage and let me just say this...it's beautiful! it's sharp! it's freaking awesome!

Egads. We're down to 6 spots left in the first 10 units. That's great news as I can order up the balance of the pricey stuff right away...meaning faster delivery.

I've just went through all ten threads on your Brevis35. Read about chip size etc. I have a lot to learn yet. If this works with the dvx, put me on the list. 10-fo

You've probably already answered it, but when will the flip unit be available with the adapter? and how much will it cost?
