Can't change the gain setting

I have not been able to change the gain setting on my camera for a while now. I can go into the menu and change what the different switch settings are, but when I change the actual switch to low, medium or high, I get a message on the screen that says "Cannot Proceed". Any ideas on why that is or what can be done about it?
 
No. Never use that mode. I used to be able to use the gain switch with no problem. Then didn't use the camera for a while. Next time I used it, gain didn't work. I've read through the manual and fiddled around with all the menu settings, but I must be missing something.
 
Its an easy button to bump without realizing it. Look for the little light.

Start with the basics. Turn picture profiles off. I'd also check auto iris, etc. Turn everything auto off.
 
Well I appreciate your help, but had already done all that. I finally just reset everything to factory settings and that did it. Never did figure out the specific reason, but at least it's handled. Thanks again!
