Good afternoon everyone, I hope you can help.
We just received our HPX250 as our second HD camera at work.
Our first, is the HPX3000. I'm having some issues matching the colors.
Both cameras are set @ 7.5 IRE, yet, the black levels don't match.
Any ideas?
Thank you in advance.
Terry

I would first black balance the cameras and then adjust the master pedestal with the lens cap on so that both camera show the same luminance level. The IRE is only for analog output and does not affect the recorded image.

Thanks THoff,
We adjusted the chroma levels on the 250 and the gamma on the 3000 - the colour is MUCH better.
I think I will reset both cameras and try your suggestion.
Thanks again.
Terry

I have written down settings to match our HPX250 to our HPX2700. Both cameras in HD gamma, Matrix and Color Correction off in the 2700, Matrix Norm 1 in the 250, Chroma +10 in the 2700, +3 in the 250, Chroma Phase +1 in the 250, Pedestal 0 in the 2700, +15 in the 250.

These settings should be close with an HPX3000although YMMV. Also, check on knee settings for both cameras, anything you do with the 3000, make sure the settings are changed for low, mid and high gain. I found the 250 a bit more of a challenge to match than a 170 with our 2700.

Hi Dino, are your 170 and 250 match together ?

I haven't tried to match them, sold the 170. The 250 would make the 170 look pretty soft, plus noisy. The 250 is sharper and quieter than our 2700, albeit slower.

I would also like to have some settings advice to match the HPX250 with HVX 201 and Canon 60D. Anybody using the user defined Styles for Canon:
Marvels Advanced and Cinestyle? Especially Master PED seems to need a quite high setting on the HPX.
