SB-600 question

I'm having issues with my flash really washing out skin tones. I'm losing all my warmth. Not sure why I can't fix this problem, any suggestions?

Thanks.

Are you shooting with a more narrow fill like 55mm versus a 28mm setting? Are you using a different type of exposure compensation like +2 or +1?

These are my first guesses...

"losing warmth" would make me think a color temp issue. Are you shooting on the wrong WB or custom WB? Any examples?

I know a lot of people prefer to shoot flash on daylight WB setting VS. the flash setting. Sometimes the flash setting comes across a little blue.

I wouldn't think of this as a problem with the SB600 as much as I would consider it a camera setting.

Nikon flashes are set at 5600k. Definitely check your camera setting.

Also, put a CTB on it, put your camera on tungsten and see if the whites are still white.

I'm all over these suggestions and will be applying them today. Thanks for all the support and help guys!

Um, I think mcgee meant to say put a CTO. A CTB would make it more blue and putting in on incandescent WB to boot would make someone look like a smurf. :D
