Exactly, that's why the Merlin 2 now costs $400 instead of the $850 it initially cost. If the brand name costs the same or only very slightly more than the knockoff, I'll go with the brand name.

Once it finally comes out (it keeps getting delayed), the steadicam solo will be a substantial improvement over a Merlin and is only $499.
