OK - so Halloween's a-coming. And I really feel like a need a Zombie fix.

Any word on when the fantabulous ZombieFest DVD box set will be available?

Pleeeease?

No way to actually have these in hand by then is there? It'd be great to watch them that night, but I'm assuming at best they'll just be available for ordering.

That's awesome Jarred! Thank you for your hard work in getting this put together. I think that the DVD's are one of the best parts of these festivals, just being able to sit down at the TV (rather than computer) and watch all these films is priceless in a mastercard way. Can't wait to order one!

How many DVDs did it require to accomodate all of the films and the bts? Do you have pricing, blah blah?

Yes. Of that, at least, I'm certain ... at least it makes sense from a business standpoint, especially with how much coin Jarred's had to put out of pocket for server bandwidth, making the DVD's, free T-Shirt give-aways to entries, etc. Offering them up for sale to as many people who want them, will help to offset all the expenses associated with this.

Of course.. the dvd's will be for sale to everyone, for about $20 for the 4 disk set. The goal is to recoupe my expenses for everything, since there was no entry fees for the fest.

$20 is an awesome price when you think about everything that you get for it. 4 disc's is incredible to begin with, and let's face it, I'd much rather have the zombiefest on DVD than duplicating my copy of 'Ernest goes to Jail'.

This is great, I'm really excited to order a copy!

Anyway of finding out which films made it in time for the DVD set? I had a number of issues with the FTP process and though that everything was OK until the last day when I received an email telling me of the problem. Anyway, I was on location and didn't have access with enough speed to resend so I had my office try and do it for me. Never did find out if it arrived in time (had them mail as well, but it would have arrived a day too late).

I'll buy a set either way, but kinda curious what films will be included.

Ditto. I'm actually surprised it can fit on 4 discs, considering all the BTS. Great price.

Yeah, well the fact some files just didnt work or people didnt send them in, we go them down to 55 films, with about an hour of special features. Still though, its alot of hours of content.

Just curious, what bonus features are on the disc?

Chris
For Shed I have
1) 8 minute making of
2) a commentary over the course of the movie with split screen color correction on one side and and raw footage on the other -- actually the split screen wipes back and forth

I'm pretty sure both of those made it on there, but I provided an easter egg which I have no idea if Jarred had any interest or time in putting it on the DVD/hiding it, but its a silly 45 second long thing anyway.

We'll have to start a thread to correct all of the technical innacuracies in my commentary though!

I can't wait for the official release though and to hear what the other BTS are

That's nice BTS stuff, Jack. Also, a very nice BTS for Texas Fortune, plus lots of other good stuff. Watching the DVD is like seeing the films for the first time. I was impressed with how good some of the films look and the quality of certain soundtracks. In some ways, I think it would be much better to skip the online part and just issue a DVD that everyones votes on. Between bad web compression and the tiny size of the image, online viewing leaves a lot to be desired.
