Hi guys,

So I was dumping my p2 cards to a friends Powerbook 17" but he moved out of the country; I have an 20" Imac that I work on for editing but I need something now to dump my cards on the go, does anyone know if this laptop will work
Dell D610 Intel Centrino

it says it has a PCMCIA slot, I have an 8gb card and a 16gb p2 card.

I need to shoot something tomorrow so I need a quick solution!

Thanks in advance for your help

oooh nice! unfortunately I can't afford that right now!

damn.

anyone else?

I just need to know if this will work?

I plan on using an external hardrive, I have MACDRIVE so I can use my external on both pc and mac

I'm using a Sony Viao that works pretty well!
I'm not sure the Dell has the slot you need.

PCMCIA slot is all you need, but why not just bring a P2 card and disc with P2CMS on it to try it out? Would not be good to buy that and find that the PCMCIA slot is bad.

Also, Macdrive or similar software is unnecessary - just format your external drive as Fat32 and you will have no compatibility issues. P2 writes to Fat32, and both Mac and PC can read and write to it.

but with fat32 doesnt it partion it so that I cant use 8gb cards?

thanks!

There is a 4gb file size limit on files in Fat32, but P2 already uses Fat32 structure so your files will never be too big.

Somebody out there please correct me if I'm wrong, but I am 99% sure that this is correct.
