Tips on Photographing Possum

Hello, whenever it is late at night in my neighborhood there are possums roaming. I'd like to photograph one to add to my nature photo collection. Do you all have any photography tips for this?

I assume you’re not bringing out lighting for it? So that means high iso, fast lens.

And of course waiting up all night for possums.

I'm going to try flash photography at ISO 800 at F/5.6 on a 70-200mm. I believe using a lens hood would be necessary so that flash does not spill on the lens

I managed to get an photo of a deer at night, but no possum showed up tonight. I got my image at ISO 2500, F/12, and a shutter speed of 1/200 at 210mm.

Is there an automatic setting that landed on f/12? I can't remember seeing f/12 on a canon camera.

It may not be F/12, but it was between F/11 and F/16

I used a vintage lens, so it may not be accurate. But it's a hard inbetween, so maybe f/13 or f/14.
