I'm using Sony FX30s to output 4K to a live switcher and need a good picture profile with high dynamic range. Coming from Canon C-series which have Wide DR picture profile, the FX30s PP11 I've been using is high contrast with lower dynamic range, so is not matching well with my C300s and Arris as the FX30's highlights clip well before the others. There is PP10 which is HLG2 and has higher dynamic range, but looks a bit too flat for live production use.
The FX30 does not output 4K over HDMI if Log shooting is turned on.
I read someone say that they could create a picture profile (such as Log) and add that into the camera, and then they could still get 4K output. I don't necessarily want Log, but do want something with less contrast than the stock picture profiles.
My first question is, how do I create a picture profile and load it into the camera? Second question is, any recommendations for picture profiles to use that output a good higher dynamic range rec 709 image for live production?
What would be a good method to make picture profile match other cameras I'm using (Sony FS7, C300, Arri)?
I found a variety of free LUTs on the Sony's website, but if I'm understanding correctly, the LUTs are just for applying to Log footage in post, not for using in-camera. I wasn't able to find picture profile downloads or how to put them into the camera.
