Save camera settings

One more idea motivated by a recent post.

Perhaps RED should store its camera settings in a metadata scene file so that in post you can know the exact state of the camera when each clip was shot.

I think that info is already part of the digital slate mooted to be part of the final camera. More info on it in another thread here somewhere, though I'm too lazy to find it right now :) Search for digital slate and you should find it.

Hi,

Will there be many camera settings? Just curious as I assume you will be recording raw footage!

I think it's going to cover a lot of information - think of it as a high end version of EXIF information along with stuff specific to shooting motion as opposed to single frames.

From memory each frame will have a unique number, among other things, and the digital slate will be both machine readable AND human readable, i.e. a digital image frame with scene, shot, take etc imprinted on it.

Of course there is no hard answers from Red at this time but these are some of the things that I remember reading about in posts. HTH
