Red Camera Backorder

I am not sure if this is the right category, tried to locate a RED discussion not his forum but I couldn't find any. Anyway if any RED users are on here did you know about there backorder issue? I placed an order last week and after going through the order process and cleared payment, I then got a message saying only the brain is available and the rest of the parts are in massive backorder. Just wanted to see if anyone on here are familiar on how fast they fulfill those backorders.

You may want to try REDuser.net ...that's the place for everything RED.

But for what it's worth, it totally depends on which brain, which parts, and the time of the year. Also if you're upgrading or not.

This has been the experience with RED for the past 10+ years.

It's always very random and you never know. It's best to speak with your RED representative for the most accurate information as no one else can provide any helpful information besides maybe how long they waited for the same camera/parts (if applicable).
 
@NorBro thank you - I signed up a few days ago on REDuser.net but no response yet. What is really odd even the REP does not know exact dates as "they said" that they have a new inventory system and are unable to tell the status fo a backorder.

Oh well waiting game it is.

@RealWorksMedia �� wow 1 year to get your gear....I remember hearing about that, I just hope they did improve a little bit, well at least they have the brain and batteries ready, but again, it doesn't work if you do not have the other "key" components. Oh well the joys of waiting for something you really need. ��
 
@NorBro. Yes I did get the DSMC2 brain which is now ready as per RED but of course the rest like the I/O, top and side handles a few of the minimags, the monitor and the rest isn't ready yet. Renting might be the solution for now. But we shall see. Fingers crossed ��

Thats good info that they have it and unfortunately RED already changed me for the full amount and I already release the funds to them, I will try and see if they can work something out on getting me those other items. Thanks so much for looking out.

Makes this forums such a wonderful resource.
