OTHER: PX270 / LDC screen "in the way"

I was one of the so-called early adopters to get a px270 and at first I was delighted to see that Panasonic FINALLY put the lcd screen on top like my other manufacturers do nowadays. In everyday business I find this idea is weird: once you put anything onto the cold show, like a mic receiver, let alone a led headlight, you cannot open the lcd screen. This issue seems to stupid to think that Pana has not concidered that. Do I make a mistake? Or am I right and anyone has found a solution...?!?!?!

The only solution is to leave the LCD open if you have the cold shoe occupied. The only design that really works well is the Canon rotate-out design. But then you have a longer front end as the LCD is stored along its long side. I am willing to deal with the hassle as I prefer to have the LCD in the front.

Just curious, how many shooters actually use the shoe? Maybe a light for run and gun, but it is no place for a mic.

The hot shoe on the 270 is crap. Putting anything on it makes the whole front mic/top handle assemble flex dangerously. They really cheaped out on the construction on these, feel way more "consumer" than they should be. My top handle snapped off on my first shoot with one when I hung a monitor off the tapped mounting holes.
