DOC: New Documentary Film - Love You Like A Rock!

Hello, everyone. I created a little documentary about my wife, her mother and our son dealing with a rare genetic disorder. It’s called LOVE YOU LIKE A ROCK. I thought my wife did an amazing job in the film. She opened up about some difficult and personal topics. It’s about dealing with loss and facing some hard truths about the future. It also features our son and the battles he encountered early on in his life. I shot the interview with the URSA 12K and Pocket 6K. The cameras performed great. This documentary has nobody famous in it, but I put a lot of love into it. I’m hoping it finds some viewers. I think it has a good message.

Beautiful story, Jason. Hard to watch in places, on a personal level, having lost my mother too early, but altogether a poignant piece.

Great use of archives and stock, to the point that I didn’t even suspect stock footage until it was mentioned in the credits. Too bad Paul Simon is (I assume) much too expensive to license for a project like this.

I do think the single interview and wall-to-wall music were the only things I’d have done differently. I’ll admit that I did have to watch this in a few sittings, just to break that up. Again, overall, you’ve told a great story, and I think you’ve done an especially good job of telling it for the viewer despite such an obviously deep and personal connection to the subject matter.
