I'm looking for a dvx100(preferably 100a but not necessary) for a theatrical shoot on April 10th. I'll pay you $150 and will return it to you that night. Preferably someone in the Orange County or San Fernando Valley area. Figure I'll try here first before going to a rental house. PM me if interested. SERIOUS ONLY PLEASE!

purpose, do you have an me64 as well? all i would need is the dvx, battery(ies), adaptor/charger and me64. let me know if you're still interested. i'm in rancho santa margarita by the way...thanks!

I'm curious Boo how are you going to use the ME64. I just shot a theater piece with a wireless mic on the lead actor and was not thrilled with the sound. I probably should of had unidirectionaln instead of a omni. To much room noise
Thanks

Re: Need to rent DVX100 or 100a, $150.

hi elvis,

i'm going to have 2 me64's placed on front of the center stage positioned as a coincident pair.  that way if the action goes to the far left or right of the stage i have that 2nd mic covering me to keep the sound as consistent as possible.  i've also been keeping in touch w/ the audio person in charge in the theatre and have been kissing  his booty(not literally...ok i offered him lunch) so i can tap into the sound board as my 3rd source where the main actors are plugged in w/ lapels.

Re: Need to rent DVX100 or 100a, $150.

yes... i find the me66 too directional. the me64 allows a wider range as well as better sound when shooting indoors.

Purpose, which mic do you prefer for weddings and were do you place them? Thanks, 8)

Re: Need to rent DVX100 or 100a, $150.

I put the Lav on the groom. I setup a shotgun by the alter, overhead if I can. I have 2 neumann oomnis that I set up pointed at the crowd for ambience noise. And I have my me64s which I place to the L/R of the seating pointed at the bride and groom. I typically have a 2 camera shoot, 3 maybe. I run all my audio through a field mixer out to two cameras. Works great.

Re: Need to rent DVX100 or 100a, $150.

How have you managed a overhead mic? And would that be your ME66?

Re: Need to rent DVX100 or 100a, $150.

Well, I was fortunate to have a high alter when I snuck the 66 in with the flowers. How have I managed it? Well, I guess I could say well? I just like to cover my bases, because audio is just as important as the film, and when that one time a low voiced bride says the most beautiful thing, and it's not picked up, woppsi-daisy.

Re: Need to rent DVX100 or 100a, $150.

How many of your mics are wireless? And I agree about the sound. What mixer do you use? And do you have someone else doing the mixing?

Re: Need to rent DVX100 or 100a, $150.

Only 1 wireless lav. I run the sound either through my mackie 1604 or my little 12 channel sound craft. I like to do the mixing myself if I can. But, ocassionally I bring on a sound guy to do it. I like to get almost every mic to at least 1 channel. So I can pick through, but mixing is essential as well.
