Merlin in stock!!

They are different products. The Merlin is a hand held stabiliser. The smooth shooter is GLidecams Vest and arm... you then need to attach the glidecam 2000 or 4000.

Mikko can probably tell you what the smooth shooter is like. But Ill say this: The smooth shooter with a Merlin attached would probably be smoother and would be lighter.

Not sure if the SS will work with the Merlin - the post on the SS arm is much bigger than the hole in the Merlin handle.

As Ncje said, the Merlin and SS are different. The Merlin is viery light and hnible and you can do a lot of very cool shots wiht it without getting as tied as with a heavier unit such as the GC. The SS will alow you to work longer with a heavier laod, but will be much mor restricting as to what you´can do due to it's limited arm range. - I'd also be cautios abotu overloading the SS too much, Not sure the arm can take it. For jsut long walk and talk shots with an XL1 the SS will work, but for more fancy moves you will want somethign as versitile as the Merlin.
