Liquid 7 PRO MXF

Hello everyone,

I am thinking about getting Liquid 7 PRO and I was trying to find out if it can support P2 HD-MXF files from the HVX200.

I got this from the avid site:

--“Broadcast Option” features included in all products – MXF support, P2 support, XDCAM support

--Fuse: DV/DVCPRO 25 (MXF, DIF, AVI), MPEG2 I/IBP MP@ML/HL, 422P@ML (M2V, MXF), DVCPRO 50 (MXF,DIF), SD/HD,Uncompressed (YUV, 2VUY), WM9, DivX, MPEG-4

--MXF: Capture/playback/fuse non-multiplexed MXF (MPEG I frame). Export multiplexed MXF, (MPEG I and IBP)

--Native P2 MXF support (playback/edit on P2 cartridge)
DV MXF support

It does not mention DVCPRO HD, and that's why I am not sure if if does or not.

Thanks for any clarification.

Hmmmm . . .

Not sure about Liquid supporting DVCProHD MXF files. Based on personal experience, I would highly advise against Liquid and my opinion is that it is kludgey and unreliable. Go with Xpress Pro or Media Composer!

I was also looking at Edius 3.0 Broadcast and it supports MXF HD, I am using the demo right now and it works pretty good and it has a nice interface.

Have you played with it before and what do you think

Thanks

No experience with Edius, sorry.

Avid Xpress Pro HD v5.2.4 and higher works great though!

EDIUS Broadcast supports every form of HVX footage (in the US). Liquid doesn't support DVCPRO-HD at all.

EDIUS has the best P2 integration and the best HVX200 support of any NLE out there.
