Great list Rich!

It really helps to have all these links in one place, considering all the crap you have to search through when you google the words "3d".

Wasp'3D

Wasp'3D

You may also want to check out www.wasp3d.com - real-time 3D graphics software packaged with some great value adds like live chroma keying, DVE, virtual sets and much more...

Has anyone heard of www.blender3d.org

You can find tutorials for it just about anywhere and it imports lightwave and 3Dstudio files (like what you can get on turbosquid).

It's FREE (Open Source) and is arguably the best open source 3d app around! I use it for titles on my video as well as fun 3d stuff including my animated logo. I also used it to create a trailer that won at a film festival. Check out the ingredible gallery on Blender's home page and watch it sing!

And I forgot to mention that it runs on just about every platform known to man... Go check it out!
