How to import HVX-202 into Final Cut Pro X on Macbook Pro

I just bought a second-hand HVX-202. It just came with a battery adapter and I have ordered a spare battery and about to order a P2 card for it.

I wanted to know how do you import footage from an HVX-202 onto FCPX on a modern Macbook Pro?

I think Macbook Pros only come with USB ports as opposed to firewire ports.

I would get a Thunderbolt P2 card reader if your MBP supports Thunderbolt as it will transfer faster.

I have use a Thunderbolt to Firewire 800 adaptor from Apple and a FW 800 to FW 4pin
to suck in video all the time.

Only reads at about 10 MB per second.

I have heard it is possible to use the USB port - go into the menu and turn that on.

Your MacBook Pro has USB 3? If so there's a reader for that and it's quite fast.
