How to build (or buy) a dimmer?

I would like to build a few dimmers for the Britek lights. Can someone point me in the right direction?

...one more thing.. I want to tell anyone else who is reading this to sign up for Walter's lighting news articles.. He gives you a year of information for the price of a replacement bulb.

Awesome article Walter! Easy to follow and informative. Have started looking into parts for building a dimmer. Looked at Home Depot and Rona and didn't find any 2K dimmers...only 300-1K's. Where abouts can I get one and how much? I saw 1K dimmer's at Rona for about $40-$60 (CAD). Does that pricing sound about right?

If I didn't say it in the article I think you can find 1500 watt dimmers but have to order 2k dimmers.
