I know that Canon has superior autofocus, but really curious to find out whether the 90D's 4K can beat Panasonic's 8bit 4K video quality?

The Panasonic GH5 camera has one of the best image processing / encoding systems around, especially with it's 4K / 1080 image being down-sampled from 5.2K.

NorBro Major Contributor Sep 6, 2019 #3 IMO, you won't see much of a difference. But the GH5 has V-Log and 10-bit if it matters. Also - and I haven't checked - maybe it's worth finding out if the 90D has 4K DPAF...there is a high chance it doesn't and it's only in 1080p.

NorBro Major Contributor Sep 6, 2019 #4 I think it has 4K DPAF! That's really nice if so. It would be the first Canon camera in this price range to have it in 4K (vs. contrast detection). Maybe the new M6 Mark II mirrorless has it too. (No 4K/24p on either though, but maybe that doesn't matter to you.)
