do the majority of you

Whenever I shoot outside on bluebird days with cine d, and everything at zero, the sky is noisy as hell, it looks like crap. I'm starting to stear clear of cine d and stick to cine v and b press.

I've honestly noticed, on the HPX170, that CineD is extremely noisy. Moreso than I thought it would be...i shot on CineV ALL the time on the original HVX, and honestly, the footage from that camera looks pretty damn clean.

Perhaps there is more gain on the shadows with CineD on the HPX...it seems like there is what looks to be 2 or 3db or so of gain on the shadows...

I think I'm going to just stick with CineV, which will force me to better light the shadows if I really need them to be seen.

I've noticed that the first thing I do in post is Crush the blacks, add contrast, and desaturate.

I might as well just do it more in camera...

what do you think?

Any other CineD woes?

Did you just ask this last week?
No matter what anyone says, you still ask about Cine D.
I think you need to try it...that will give you your answer.

Cine V is great but can be unrelentingly contrasty on summer days, if there's plenty of light Cine D is the way to go.

Cine V is more geared towards the small screen to emulate the punch that a TV needs in less than perfect light conditions, Cine D is less forgiving and needs a dark viewing environment to get the best from it.

I try CineD....guess what...I use it ALL the time.

and it's noisy as hell. I just wanted to know why.
