"Digital Lighting Magic" dvds

Re: "Digital Lighting Magic" dvds

Yes, I have all of those. I got them cheaper on Ebay from the same seller.

I think they have alot of good ideas, lots of Do It Yourself lighting, lots of sample footage, but it seemed somewhat rushed, and amateur.

I thought the DV Enlightenment stuff was better produced, and looked nicer and wouldn't embarass me to loan to a friend, but this stuff is perhaps more practical in the sense that it's what an average person might be able to do without a large budget.

I would say it's worth a look, but the asking price on the website is a bit much. I paid less than half of that on Ebay.

Re: "Digital Lighting Magic" dvds

thanks dude, that's all i needed to hear.

If it includes the same info, I don't mind if it lacks a little production value compared the DVEn.

Just out of curiousity, its almost 4 hours long, does this mean it's repetitive or redundant?... like that sentence? Or do they just give more time to each subject than DVEn?

Re: "Digital Lighting Magic" dvds

I believe there is a bit of redundancy in some of the principals. I also ordered his broadcast camera series at the same time, and that included some of the lighting dvd material. You can't help but liking the guy at the end of this series. He seems real passionate about what he does, even at the cost of perfection, but in the end, you can pick up a few good tricks. Alot of little tricks that some of the more professional dvd's wouldn't bother to cover.
