does anyone else feel like filming "selective focus" technique usually involves a lot of moving the tripod and camera about the place?
the camera lens needs to be zoomed all the way forward, therefore a tripod is required for a proper steady frame, and so that means tripod for almost every...

here is my first attempt to give proper advice to a Director about what cameras are required to film a kids show. her main imperative is (amongst other things) nice bokeh backgrounds.
about the show.. ten kids, there's lots of movement, and some documentary style film work along with studio and...
hi all, i am considering a 100mm Vivitar to put on a Brevis35 via the Canon fd style connection (hope that sounds sensible? if not, please feel free to mention :))
Timur has mentioned issues with telephoto lens if they do not have a backfocus, the lens will not remain in focus during a zoom...
hi all, just wondering what this lens would be like with a Brevis35/sonyEX1?
what about the auto-focus and ios features of this lens? it seems to make sense, i just wonder if there are any un-anticipated factors going on here?
i guess a still lens will never be quite as good as a cine lens for...
Hi all,
i hope to purchase a Brevis 35 system, with the rails system.
a few questions, if i may..
1/ what is the best diffuser to choose for the EX1
2/ what type of lens would be good to put on the adapter.. is it necessary to pay a lot of dollars, or are lower priced options just as good...
i am interested in purchasing an EX1, but the price in oz is 10 grand!
i did the math and for the same price, could purchase the ex1 with the extra wide angle lens, film light, carry case, extra battery and a cokin filter from B&H in america.
has anyone purchased an ex1 from B&H, then had it...
this may or may not be a useful thread .. although of course, i do hope it is. :)
i am interested in purchasing a Sony EX1. i also surf the net on a very slow 56k dial-up modem.. seems almost mutually exclusive eh? well, it is a long story, but there it is.
my point is this: i cannot watch...
hi there, i have been searching for lots of nice fullscreen frame grabs from footage filmed through the LetusMini converter, using an Hv20.
my connection is a dial-up connection, but i have somehow found it difficult to find many examples on the internet.
could people please direct me to all...
hi all, i am quite new here, and do not yet own an Hv20, however i would really like to ask about the 25p mode for the camera, in regards to the workaround techniques that are applied to prevent auto-gain from happening.
are they the same as 24p mode? i am in a PAL country, and therefore would...
please, i would love to know.. can the HV20 do 4:2:2 1920 by 1080 uncompressed output via the HDMI output?
some people say it can, others say it cannot, there is not much discussion in-between.
the nay-sayers believe that the signal does not go direct from sensor to HDMI output, but rather...
edit:/ title meant to be HVR-V1P
hi all, i have been considering an HV20 and a Lexus35 mini combination. have also researched the sony HVR-V1P, and it looks like a truly great camera, with no workarounds necessary.
because i am a VJ trying to keep a sensible budget, i will not purchase a...
hi all, am new here, and here is my first question: are there any reasonably priced hdmi capture cards that will fit a macbook pro? i guess it would need to be a pcmcia card (if macbook pros support that), or a firewire card.
i am very excited about the "Intensity" hdmi capture card (pci) for...
