Hey Everyone, I've got a couple of student films that are in the rough cut stage. The students are going to schedule pickups this weekend but before they do, I'd like to get them some feedback on their rough cuts (so they can figure out if they need to reshoot anything or make any changes)...

Anybody use LTO tape for archiving? How long does it take to fill up an LTO 5 tape? I'm thinking about getting one of these: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/882908-REG/Overland_ov_lto101006_LTO_5_Ultrium_Tape_Drive.html Any advice or is it as straightforward as it seems? Thanks.

Can anybody recommend any good screenwriter DVD featurettes? I'm not interested in 2hrs of writer commentary, while useful I need short featurettes. Here's what I've got: Dances w/ Wolves Alien Braveheart These are all great, seriously inspirational. Any other recommendations?

I just picked up a DS2000 with an autostar 494 controller. (I know 497 would be better but it was a great deal) I'm trying to figure out how best to use this to do MOCO pan/tilt for timelapse. The manual settings have 9 speeds but they are in arc seconds. My question is how does this translate...

I have a friend who needs a RC camera helicopter for his senior project. It's a pro-bono non-paid shoot. He's put a lot of time and money into this project to make it exceptional. He's rented out an entire race track and secured sports cars and drivers. He's got a donated Red Epic as the main...

Interesting. I saw the light/dark contrast which was different than the washed out blacks in the background. This in effect kept the eye drawn to the subject rather than the background. Like this: The contrast of the shirt/tie keeps the eye drawn to the subject. I didn't even catch the...

I bought the wrong tape. I'm looking to trade out some unused XL DVCPROHD tapes for new or gently used L DVCPROHD tapes. I have 5 Panasonic AJ-HP126EXG tapes I'd like to trade. I have one Fuji DP1001 that works with my machine but it's getting a little old. Why not just return them? I work...

I'm looking for short film scripts for student productions. These will be for student productions so they probably won't have much of a budget to pay for the script if anything at all, but you will get copy and credit along with decent directing and production value. If you've got a short...

For tiny cell phones: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Stretch-JELLY-LENS-lomo-Camera-Lens-moblie-lens-NO-2-/250557125396?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item3a565e5314 This one is $1.68, but there are some that are .99 For a buck it'd be fun to try. I don't think it'd fit on my 7d though...

A little while ago someone posted about a site that will let you create movie posters online. I tried it out and it worked pretty good but the resolution was not really usable for film. The owners of the site saw my comment and contacted me and we talked a little bit about expanding the site...

I'd like to make a list of DVXUser relevant booths to visit while at NAB. Obviously the obligatory stop by and say hi/thanks to Jan at the Panny booth, but I'd like to make a list of all the smaller DVX regulars that might have/be sharing booths. Anyone?

I'm looking for DVD Featurettes with screenwriters. (I'm NOT looking for writer commentary, just featurettes.) Some I know of: Alien Dances w/ Wolves Braveheart Any others?

I'm looking for examples from feature films of off screen lightning. I'm not looking for on screen lightning bolt effects, but flashes of light that illuminate a character at a dramatic moment. Any ideas?

Not sure where to post this, figured cinematography would be most appropriate. I have a friend who would like to shoot car underwater. The shot needs to be a submerged (fully, not partial) car, a girl inside gets pulled out to safety. the camera will be underwater. Here's the clincher: it...

http://www.aiptek3d.com/ Yeah Baby - This'll be a fun toy! Perhaps a AG-3DA1 crash-cam?

I'm throwing this one out to the community: We have a student at our school is functionally blind. She needs a guide dog but can see a little bit. She can read a computer but she has to be about 1" from the screen. She's smart and very dedicated. But... well, she's blind. What facets of...
