Thanks for all the help. Information that is worth more than gold, so what I'm seeing is that soft lighting is for the green/blue/red screen only. makes since. Space lights or fisher lights are pro lights though right, and won't be found at the local hardware giant?
I'm trying to light my DIY greenscreen. I've read quite a bit on the subject, and I'm seeing that you need softlight in order to get your subject looking good, I know to accomplish this you need a softlight box. I found plans for a DIY soft light box, and am considering building it, but couldn't...
I'm new at AE. I have AE 7 pro and think I may have gotten more than I bargained for. My footage won't play back at regular frame rate (and/or in real time) unless I cut resolution by 50%. Is this due to a lack of memory on my computer? If so, is it possible to work at 50% resolution and...
I've almost completed this DIY steadicam:

It says that the mount for larger cameras won't work with the inverted bracket. Does anyone know of away around this?
i just bought some flood lights. Any advice on lighting the blue screen? I imagine the idea is to angle the lights so there is no shadows. Outside of that I'm pretty clueless. Is there an optimal setting for the DVX for blue screen shots?
I made a green screen in my garage with poster board and lit it with a flood light. I attempted to key it in with Adobe 6.0 but my subject is translucent and it seems that now matter how I adjust the threshhold or cut off he is always translucent. Did I key it wrong? Or is it mearly the result...
I recently saw some really cool footage of a sniper mask (POV through the scope). The best way I could figure out how to make one is by shooting the footage of the mark, and then dropping a mask that was created in Photoshop on the footage. Am I right? Is there a better way? I am posting this in...
I have Premiere 6, and will be ungrading to pro 1.5, does anyone know how to get horizontal and vertical split screen? How about 3 tile split screen for either program. Or is this an after effects kind of thing?
Does anyone know how to do the old Adam West Batman spinning background transition? I have an idea on how it might be done, but would you really spin the camera? Also how would you create quick moving back grounds, like someone in a fast car with a fast background over a green screen?
What do you guy's think of the steady stick, just as a cheap temporary alternative to purchasing a glidecam or steady shot. I know there is probably no comparison, but I was wondering if those things(steady stick) would work at all.
Also does anyone have a mic they would recomend?
I just recently joined the cult of the DVX and like most people who have purchased this great camera I have some questions. To begin with I recieved a telephoto lense and a wide-angle lense and I'm not sure if I'm using them right. After mounting them on the camera, I can see the corners of the...
