Today for the first time after a year and a month, my A6000 stopped working for a good 15min, going back and forth from responding to being completely frozen.
At some point whatever button I pressed didn't give any feedback, menu wasn't working, review, iso, shutter.. nothing.
I turned it off...
I was looking at "The Martian" trailer and I noticed this:
I've actually noticed the same issue in other movies lately.
Probably they like it in Hollywood.
Thank you David,
didn't think about hard lights at all!
Do you have anything particular in mind? On a budget, so if it's possible on the same range of those two I posted?
Hi there,
I'm thinking to buy one light to start playing around.
Something portable I could use either at home just to experiment and start getting a sense of it, but also something I could easily carry around.
I spot a Genaray LED-6800 256 LED which seems to be pretty cheap and has good...
Hi there,
I'm trying to find a solution for this problem.
I need to shoot a scene where the actor is moving toward the camera.
The scene start wide, camera is slightly on the side. As the actor gets closer he'll notice something on the ground and he'll pick it up.
Camera follows his action for...
Perhaps this already appeared here, not sure...
Anyway, it seems interesting:

Some complains I'm hearing after all these news is that Sony customers end up with a short life-cycle product that, after maybe a year, doesn't hold up very well a second hand market, making them less...
As Erik said, good lighting is really important and nothing is gonna save the day if that step is missing or simply wrong.
Other than that, you can color grade your footage, but bear in mind that if light setup is not the proper one, color grading won't magically gives you the result you're...
I was wondering what A7s folks would love to see in a firmware update: I guess top request is rolling shutter?
Also, I never been a Sony user so I've no idea whether Sony listen to customer requests or not. Are they good at that?
So, as far as I understand, metabones equipment is meant to help whenever one is working in APS-C mode, is that correct?
If so, assuming I just want to work in FF and I'm only using manual lenses, is a traditional adapter (for instance http://amzn.com/B003ZLISZU) enough?
I'm confused about the workflow with Plural Eyes.
Here's what I'm doing:
So, I'm basically starting MC with no editing yet.
Then, from Plural Eyes I'm importing my media files, video and audio, syncing them and trying to Export. I can export to Premiere but the Media Composer option always...
Hi there,
I'm gonna buy a Vid-Atlantic clamp kit. I saw a few options, they're basically the same as the only thing that actually changes is the adapter rings included.
I'm wondering if these adapter rings are special and created specifically for this clamp, or if I can just use my other...
Hi there,
just got a Kowa Prominar 16-a and, despite I don't have the clamp yet, I wanted to give it a try just handled in front of my Nikko4 50 f/1.4.
Now I've got my anamorphic lame test and want to see how it looks. So, I'm importing the quicktime in After Effects and then... I'm lost. How...
Hi all,
I'm looking for an affordable yet reasonable good viewfinder magnifier for my 7D.
I've seen a CowboyStudio Viewfinder for 32 bucks on Amazon, reviews seem good but wanted to see if anyone have got a direct experience with that particular viewfinder or if there's any other good...
I've stumbled upon an article about the 180 degree rule and why it's important to respect this rule as long as we don't have particular needs. So far shooting outdoors in a bright daylight I pumped the shutter speed way over 1/200 (much, much more actually) because I didn't know about the 180...
Just received my Flycam nano, having hard time trying to stabilize it but I'll try it better later.
Anyway, thinking to buy a quick release: could one of these work fine with Flycam and 7D...
