I always assumed that an audio limiter setting on a camera did the same thing as AGC. Is this not the case? I just watched a tutorial on YT :rolleyes: where a videographer set audio levels manually and then turned the limiter on. Are these functions (AGC & Limiter) not doing essentially the same...

I don't know how 8K equals any kind of relevance, especially as raw or even 10 bit footage.

Behind in terms of full frame mirrorless cameras? I can see that, but Lumix are so much better than Canon and Sony.

Why would any mirrorless camera need to record 8K video??? I could think of applications, but that's expecting a lot from an inexpensive camera. Man, I sure hope Panasonic doesn't ever drop out of camera manufacturing. Canon and Sony are fine but just don't compare.

From what the rumor mongers have been saying, it seemed a release should be happening right about NOW. I suppose maybe S5IIX might have to do, but I feel like the MKII of the S1H would be the cat's ass.

Anyone hear anything conclusive about an S1H MKII release?

More fps allows for less other information. It's a trade-off. Frames Vs color information, etc.

Am I correct in understanding that the only settings for rear screen and evf are "auto" meaning the rear screen shuts off when anything is near the evf, OR evf is always on while rear screen is always off OR rear screen is always on while evf is always off?

Since we're well clear of tape recording, I'm unsure if I can provide a file meant for broadcast as 24fps or not. I've been using straight 24fps for web, but now I'm wondering if I can skip 23.98fps completely. Any master control bros here?

I had 2 Tiffen variable ND filters that both developed some kind of haze that was inside the glass, not ON the glass. And also I noticed my Heliopan variable ND has developed the same haze. To their credit, Tiffen replaced the 10 year old filters. I might end up throwing the Heliopan out...

On a budget, hang a frame overhead with seamless diffusion on it and downward angled lights mounted above the frame from a decent distance away. Avoid any sort of rigging that has to sit on the floor especially with a black or dark painted vehicle.
