Has anyone come across a better encoding solution than Apple's Compressor? I'm not sure people realize how bad it is. I've tried a few others like Bitvice and Streamclip, which are actually pretty good. But I'm looking for results similar to what you might get from the Sonic Solutions SD-2000.

Sorry if this is the wrong forum, but does anyone know of any good software to convert PAL to NTSC, other than Compressor which isn't working so great. Thanks!

I have an issue with a spanned clip. In Final Cut I import the clip from two P2 cards, and when I put them back together in the timeline and render them out, it jumps where the clip was split, as though its missing a frame, or the split wasnt seemless. I tried importing the P2 cards directly...

Blackmagic Decklink SP Does anyone use this with FCP to preview their HD footage on a regular ntsc monitor? If so does the downconversion look any good?

The component cable that comes with the camera doesnt seem to fit tightly, are there better options out there? I lose signal to my monitor and have to push it back in a little.

I was importing a bunch of clips in FCP and where it shows the time code for each clip as youre about to import them, one clip had jiberish numbers in the place of the time code. That one clip didn't import and it said it was corrupt. Anyone else have this happen? Maybe I should try HD Log or...

Is there a trick to import multiple P2 volumes into Final Cut without having to select a volume each time. I have quite a few P2 cards offloaded on a hard drive and it would be nice to just select the parent folder containg all the volumes. But that doesn't seem to work. Any help would be...

Does this bother anyone? Are there ways to reduce it? These are samples from various clips in the forum, and I believe they all mention using just the stock lens.

Just wondering about this blue/purple fringe that keeps showing up on the HVX footage. Is this a camera issue or a lighting issue, or both? It seems to show up only on the left side of all the footage. I've posted some samples from various clips in the forum.
