Update: I got hired on as a full-time employee, so I won't be pursuing video production as a full-time business. Thanks everyone for sharing your insight. I still plan on setting up a business, as corporate job longevity isn't what it used to be.

2.4Ghz mics are short range line of sight, which is fine for interviews, but not necessarily auditorium events.

The internal batteries can drop below the minimum voltage for the BMS to recharge them if they’re not used for a few months. I’d look for the old Rode AA version or a Sennheiser G4. The Sennheiser AVX is really nice, but it’s expensive, & has 20ms latency.

I don’t think that the C100 minijack outputs plug in power. You’ll need a lav with an in-line battery or mini Jack to XLR adapter that steps down the voltage.

I didn’t notice it having more handling noise than other shotgun mics, but there’s not much room for a shock mount before running into the interference tube.

Are you asking about the AT875R or shock mount contraption? I just made it last week, and haven’t put it through its paces yet, but I’m not worried about handling noise, as I’ve done all the mitigation I can.

My solution was to make an offset bracket paired with a rod adapter and third-party shock mount.

I ordered the SmallRig tripod, received it, inspected it, but haven't used it yet. The extra height will be nice, as 6' 5" people are relatively common in my neck of the woods. Video production isn't my day job, so I'm less inclined to buy a Sachtler.
