Will do. I think Sony has a winner with this one, but all of the hype and influencer BS is very annoying and distracting. It's hard to separate fact and fiction. I thought it reached a peak with the ZR but this is on a new level!
Well, I sold my fx6 and I'm waiting for my fx5 preorder. I ordered the top handle package. I'm really looking forward to the improved image quality and the smaller form factor. Even with a cinesaddle it has been difficult for me to hold the fx6 on long shoots. The only bummer is no internal ND...
I downloaded the same files. They looked good to me, with the exception of the CU of the girl her skin looks plasticky. However, I think her skin was oily and shining. I couldn't get the raw files to load in Premiere.
Agreed, Chris. I preordered the fx5 but I'm hesitant to part with my fx6 mainly due to the great form factor, EVND and I/O. Especially the EVND which is pure magic. .. BTW have you guys noticed a significant bump in image quality from the fx6>fx5?
The DGO is a really intriguing aspect of this camera, but from what I understand it's not a true DGO sensor like the c70/c300 III. It can only be engaged at 800 iso? I'm curious what your thoughts are on the images you're seeing coming out of the fx5 from the perspective of a Alexa/Canon owner...
Yeah, agreed. I would like to see some average Joe footage/grades which isn't going to happen until actual production units arrive in people's hands. The real test is filming your dog in the garage, not Gareth Edwards in some exotic locale.
Edit: Rob, I just watched the BH photo footage and I...
I guess the question is what can it do that my fx6 can't for the type of work that I do. The main draw for me is the ergos, specifically the size which might give me less back aches...
Preordered without the top handle. From the footage posted it looks like Sony has done some tweaking on their image and looks a bit less digital to me. Thoughts?
I own a c70 and I hate the form factor. I think the fx5 will be more of a box or closer to the c50 as opposed to a c80 style body. Sony has been pretty good with their ergos on their fx cameras.
Got it. A lot of non-Sony users point to image quality. I'm not crazy about the Sony look, but of all the cameras I've used (Canon, Nikon, Panny, Red, Blackmagic, etc.) I find them to be the most ergonomic and reliable for my needs (run and gun docs)... I'm actually hoping that Sony works on...
