Hi Everybody.
Here is a 7 min documentary I shot using an AF100 / Nikon 28-70mm with available lighting and a small soft light. I'm a big fan of this camera.
This is a personal project about an interesting man (the guy who cuts my hair) named Jack and his shop Minsky's.
I was moving fast...
Hello,
The dinner shoot had to be abandoned because of uncontrolled lighting. I rolled off some examples to show. Basically I turned up the iso to 800 and shot a f2 to get reasonable exposure on the subjects. Was hoping for an overcast day but direct sunlight hit the shades and turned them...
Tomorrow I will shoot a family having dinner.
Using:
AF100
Nikon 85mm,f1.4G
Oly 14-35mm, f2
Kessler Slider
My lighting footprint has to be minimal so I'm planning to use a China ball with a 150 watt light attached to a dimmer (see photo).
My concern is that I will need to get some lift on...
Thanks to everybody for your thoughtful responses.
Direct sunlight is challenging, even for some of the industry's best cameras.
Maybe I should refine my question a bit. Here goes:
What specific scene file settings (knee, DRS, etc) will help me get the most "even" falloff to the highlights...

Hello,
First let me say that I am a big fan of the AF100 and what follows is not a gripe about the camera:
Yesterday I did a very picturesque shoot of kayakers on a stream with dappled sunlight. Used the TV logic 5.6 with Waveform. Everything looked good, even a 1/4 stop underexposed...
I'm considering buying this camera. I know that the absence of a "low-pass" filter may increase the likelihood of moire when shooting stills. Will this also increase the likelihood of moire on video as well? Thanks in advance.
Hi,
I own a VFM-056W (with AF100 battery back) and I love it.
Here is the problem:
- It works with the battery supplied by Panasonic with the AF100 (CGA-E/625);
- It does not work with the only other Panasonic branded battery I can find (VW-VBG6);
- It does not work with a generic battery...
Hello,
I currently own the Olympus 14-35 MM (love it) and am ready to buy the Olympus 35-100 MM. Read all of the forum posts regarding the lens so I am aware of its limitations -- clicking during zoom, weight, cost.
Considering the following points, is there any reason I should reconsider my...
I have a shoot coming up that will require a Stedicam with an AF100. It will be fast-paced with minimal time for me to review takes for focus.
Currently using a Olyumpus 14-35mm 2.0 and I love it. So far it works like a champ in all situations, including for Stedicam. It does not, however...
So, I am working on a 30 second commercial with the following details:
- Footage shot DVCProHD 720 / 30P (29.97)
- Editing Final Cut Pro Studio 2
- Editing sequence settings - Drop frame & settings as shot
- Output requested by Comcast - ProRes422 720 / 59.94fps DF
How do I output 59.94fps...
I'm looking to buy a steady cam for the AF100 equipped with an Olympus 14-35mm lens.
Considering the Steadycam Pilot.
Any opinions, alternatives, or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
