Neat idea. But MFT with a 1-inch sensor means I'd want like a 10mm lens or wider (or a 10-24 zoom or whatever)...I think. Still, a cool thing from them. Thanks for mentioning it. Here's their Mission 1 product page: https://gopro.com/en/us/info/mission-1-learnmore
Also, GoPro is a local(ish)...
:-) No worries. Hope something good comes out at NAB... And will be interesting to see what ends up working for you.
But really, you should use a Nagra SN. Pretty easy to strap to a camera, according to those direct cinema guys and gals...
But since sound is at least 50% of the story, it makes sense to spend as much on audio equipment as camera equipment. ;)
And to be clear, as far as anyone knows, MozeGear is out of business. Bummer.
Good luck!
I guess it depends on how your want to record audio. Like do you want to record two channels directly to your ARRI, or do you want double-system sound, with the mix of flexibility and hassle that comes with that approach.
Considering you're recording for/to an ARRI Mini, I'd think I'd consider...
Ya, I don't know what to do with my Theos set. I guess I could sell it, but I feel like I should give a warning to any buyer. What was I thinking?
My Lectro stuff is getting old.
I'm now probably not going to make it to NAB. Been going since 95, only skipping a few years. But at this point, I mainly want to say hi to friends. That's totally great, but alas/hooray I'm kind of busy right now. Still, it is a pretty fun hang.
As for what I want to see: new radio mics from...
I'm not up to date on projectors... But maybe ask in the techtheater subreddit? They're all about live theater, but I lurk there once in a while and strikes me as a good group: https://www.reddit.com/r/techtheatre/
The main mic I know of with the most minimal (to no) rear lobe is the Sanken CSR-2. Never used it, but on the NAB show floor many years ago, it was impressive. Also about $1400. Offhand, I don't know of a reasonably-price option; but there may be one...
Required Minimum Distribution from retirement accounts like IRA, 401(k), etc.
Paul, thanks for your post. My wife will retire soon so we're trying to learn about all this stuff.
I don't own any walkies. Easy enough to rent around here. But for two long(ish) projects I'll need 3-4 for a long time. And you know, with the UNSTOPPABLE MARCH OF TECHNOLOGY, I'm hoping there are some decent low-cost(ish) options.
I'm looking for:
Rain proof (ish)
Drop proof (ish)
2 mile / 3...
Interesting charts. If you click through to the Indiewire article that YMC riffs on, you'll see a few paragraphs from each cinematographer and/or director about their equipment and how they filmed. Good reading...
Bummer. The C70 I bought, and the other used stuff I've bought from them, were in functional and aesthetic great shape. And they've mostly been rated (2) on the how's-it-look scale. Check the picture of the C70 I bought...and if you want, I can send you a couple others (the camera's sitting...
I can't recall if you bought a C70, are still looking, or have moved on to other cameras... But Lensrentals.com is again offering 20-percent off their used equipment (LRHOLIDAY20 and code at top of each of their web pages). And they have four C70s with low hours for about $2300 (after the...
So Bloomberg said in August (IIRC) that ARRI was exploring, "Options Including Sale."
Here's a no-paywall article that basically covers what the one Brian linked to covers, but includes this bit:
The CineD article here...
Knights of the Editing Table has a 20-percent off sale for the next week. Their plug-ins and software tools are just for Adobe Premiere Pro (and associated applications), but they have some really useful (and inexpensive) stuff if that's how you roll. I find Watchtower and Grave Robber really...
The used C70 I bought from Lensrentals.com was well packed in its original box (ie- not in a pelican as it probably was for rentals), included all the accessories including manual, top handle, batt charger, body cap, and two batteries, a BP-A30 and a BP-A60. And the batteries are fully charged...
