Can a flash be used to fill in the scene with Arri 650w key light?

If you are shooting color you can either add some CTO to your Alien Bees or some CTB to your fresnel. I would be inclined to add the CTO and crank the power up on the strobe as needed. Nice light from the Arris fresnel, classic contrasty lighting from the early film days.

GH4 Anyone using YAGH with Pix-E5?

Just to rule out potential issues with cables and the YAGH itself, is anyone successfully getting either a record trigger or timecode from a GH4 via the YAGH interface? I get record trigger from the mini HDMI directly but not through the YAGH. The GH4 shows timecode from my mixer but not on the...

    Kitchen Set Lighting Help!

Could you place a china ball high/front/left to mimic an overhead practical? That might add sufficient fill. The food on the lower right looks great with what you have - appetizing.

How would you light this scene?

It's a night interior. The recce shots don't show what it would look like at night. Art galleries often have small narrow sources illuminating the art. That works well with the type of scene you've described. Some fresnels illuminating the art (and subjects) from above might be a start.

Music Video lighting...how was this done?

Some of that looks like a frost filter may have been used (over the lens), something like one of these.

    What is Sony up to?

Survey questions are indicative of future product releases: I’d like to experience my high resolution audio files played back from a Blu-ray Disc. I’m perfectly happy with the 16-bit/44.1 kHz audio standard. I feel there is some market potential for high-resolution music titles delivered...

    Wildlife Photography Thread

Sandhill Crane at Bosque del Apache in New Mexico, late Fall Canon 7D, 100-400 @ 320mm f6.3 1/400 Either handheld or on a tripod with a Wimberly head. He was probably 100 feet or so distant. In the early evening the cranes fly in and land in the crane pools where they feed and roost for the night.

    Something Ediius 6.5 can't edit?

I'm trying to help someone out with a clip for which we have little information. It's supposed to be stereoscopic 3d footage. It's an AVI file. The OS says it's 29 fps, 704x480. When I try to view it in Edius all I see is a black screen and no audio, but the player is happily displaying...

How do you think this shot was lit? (sorry!)

The shadows have a soft edge. Looks like the light you would get from a north facing window.

Is there an agency for props?

Let's say you have a rare aircraft that you would like to make available as a movie prop. Is there an agency that is the "go to" place for props such as this?
