UPDATE – NEW AND IMPROVED K-TONE LUTs
It’s been quite a while, since I made the original K-Tone LUT, now it is getting a bit long in the teeth. I always wanted to make a new version, but never had the time on my hands. Now Robert “Freezer” Niessner bit the bullet and made 3 new versions, based...
New blog article - title says it all

Looking forward to shoot my next feature film on those babies in September :-)
They got the anamorpic ratio, but without the artifacts. Much like shooting spherical but in anamorpic.
Love the look.
Blue (or rather cold) is okay as long as you don't use those disco gels, or - at least - have it super motivated.
I just made a mood board for a feature film I gonna shoot in late September, lot's of blue there, but no vulgar.
Side note: That's the third feature, I gonna shoot exclusively on...

I received my LCM156 monitor last week, and gave it a test run on the first weekend of shooting "The Easy One" - Pretty amazing bang for the buck, in my opinion.
I also wrote an article, if someone is interested...
Just took my new Nebula 4000 3 axis stabilizer for a walk in the park.
Actually it works pretty well with the BM Pocket Cinema Camera.,
but it needs still some tweaking in the software profiles, and some more practicing how to walk - it's still a bit bobbing. Also the pans need more attention -...
Like the gentleman on the motorcycle, of course you would use an EVF in this scenario with an URSA.
And yeah, I have a certain preference, to do difficult shots like this.
Not the most flattering image of me, but whatever it takes....
The wight discussion is a pretty new thing (manly from folks that come from DSLRs).
Generations of DPs and camera men have shot with much heavier rigs for decades - and yeah,
wight means stability when you are shoulder shooting.
Here is how I do it:
Okay, I just wrapped a feature film (as DP), and now we have some discussion on audio post,
regarding the proper software.
Some folks keep telling me, that Protools is the only "pro" way to do a good mix for cinema,
while the other half is telling me, that it is just a mater of taste and...
Little secret my Hair&Makeup guy told me is Palladio Natural Rice Powder - super dull, plays nice with any camera and light, even an idiot like me can apply it with a brush - super cheap on top of it.
It comes in 3 flavors: natural, translucent and warm - so cheap that you can buy all three...
