Are there any Sony Picture Profiles for the EX3...available to download anywhere...?

Who shoots with the EX3 on here? My understanding is the EX1 PP aren't compatible with the EX3...

I agree...I can not understand why Sony doesn't have PP for the EX cams...

I even asked someone at sony and they said the have them on their site...but if I'm not mistaken they are for XDCam HD not EX again not compatible.

Do let me know if anyone has some good PP for EX3...I'd like to try them out.
They use to call me DowntownBrown from my hoop dayz...

The settings for the EX1 and EX3 are interchangeable, you just have to enter them in manually as you can load a EX1 setting into an EX3 and visa versa. There are a ton of PP's here:

The color matrixes are vastly different sadly, as I found out after spending an hour or so manually entering ex3 profiles a while back. Came out with some extremely green and blue images.

            2.Steve Thomas
            3.HVX

Hahaha! I like #1.Standard the best! (I think you need to shoot a more appropriate subject. Something with some highlights, etc...)

              Thanks for doing this.

                Haha I know right ;)

Just made it as a refreens in a controled invirovment since im going out for a couple of weeks of shooting now and wanted everything set up before i left.

Also got my first KxR today, 24p/48fps works like a clock.. however 52fps failed after 2 minutes..

Almost like a belive that KxR and 60fps will be fine for shooting snowboard since the clips are so short.. The datarate limit seams to occur after some sort of buffert underun.

Has anyone tried these? How do they look?
I'm just beginning on my PP journey and would like someting "filmic" (damn I promised myself I wouldn't use that term!) without a lot of fussing back and forth with settings.

Someone should give a course, say 3 hour course at local Sony dealer, on how to tweak the EX-1. Hint Hint.

                  Thanks
                  Bob

Totally agree Bob. I'd pay money for that course, DVD, download... Whatever. I thought the Vortex DVD on the EX1 helped a lot. I was happy to buy it for $100 and have recommended it to others. So I echo your "Hint, Hint, Hint" to somebody!!!!

                      Picture profile for underwater shots

As I will be using my EX1 underwater as well, does anybody have a suggestion for a ''Underwater" profile?

Not sure if those hints are for Andy but he actually gives those classes. They are free for some purchases (HPX300 and up, EX3 and up ect.) and DVXusers get sweet deals for other cameras. Not trying to "sell" it but if you really need a class we do offer them in L.A. as well.

                        just a thought.

                            Hey Bob

Here is a link to our general EX3 class - http://www.abelcine.com/articles/ind...=296&Itemid=60

The class is free for anyone who bought a EX3 from us. The class covers all the functions of the EX1 as well. We spend an hour or more going over Picture Profiles and making looks.

We also do individual classes for a single person or small group. You can call us and ask for the service department to make an appointment.

                                - B-G -23
                                Detail –
                                - Level – 30 (subjective)

                                Gamma –
                                - Level +11
                                - Select: STD4

                                Black – -1
                                Black Gamma - -52
                                I need some further clarification:
Are the detail settings indeed NEGATIVE or is that just a dash in front of the number?

Same with B-G and Black Gamma. and Level...is that neg 30 or just 30?

Also what's the difference between the Cine profiles (V and D) if you were going to describe it to someone just starting out with PPs (me!)

                                Thanks again
                                Bob
