FS7: Harmony Live - Short Singing Promo

Shot on a shoestring for (IMO) a very good cause. Handheld FS7 and tripod 5dmk3 in the balcony. Singing room audio from Zoom H4n, IVs (sadly) from only a top mic, as I didn't have 3 radios with me, and there was only enough time to shoot the IV as a three-up.

Definitely a fun and relaxing shoot though! :-)

Good stuff Jason. Nicely done. Sounds terrific - and looks good under (I assume) some mixed lighting conditions.

      Thanks Mark!

Indeed, lighting was a nightmare TBH. Shooting 11-5 so gradual falloff of strong winter sun through stained-glass, complemented with a mix of overhead tungsten and flouro strip-lighting all the round the outside. Pretty much massacred the skintones, although interestingly the 5D skintones seems slightly more robust/correctable. All par for the course though in this sort of situation!

      Cheers,

My 2 cents Jason. You start with the weakest element, a vox pop with poor sound. Consider starting with your strongest element, the singing, at least for a bar or two before you bring in the vox pops. Also, I don't feel you need to see every speaker, particularly at the start.

A few more close ups showing joy on peoples' faces would be good too.

Lastly, with the current debate about cultural appropriation, I'm not sure the South African township song is the best choice, but then I did used to work for UB40, so what do I know:-)
