Hello Listers. I need to purchase a new monitor or two for my work station. This is like prepping for a root canal. It is probably going to hurt, and the end result could still cause me some pain and be expensive to boot. When I read user reviews, virtually every monitor has enough detractors to give me pause so am asking for opinions here.
CPU is as high spec Mac Trashcan with plenty of GPU performance. I want something in the 32-34" range. I haven't set a specific budget but prefer to stay in the sub $500 range, though could spend more if I was compelled. I haven't done much video color grading and probably won't moving forward as I am more or less retired. If I get to that spot, I'll upgrade then.
Have been using higher end LG and they have been OK, but now have a dead one of two after about 3 years. I would reluctantly purchase another LG, but would entertain other brands from the usual suspects: BenQ, Samsung, Dell, etc. The new Apple monitors look great but are way out of my network.
TIA
Grant
